Dear Harpist or Harp Lover,

Welcome to the San Diego Harp Society, local chapter of the American Harp Society!

We invite you to look around, check us out, and mark your calendars for all of the exciting concerts & events this season! Also, be sure to let us know how you’d like to become involved in YOUR San Diego Harp Society!

Our board has been busy preparing for this 2018-19 season, planning for the wonderful concerts we have in store for you. We kick off our concert season with a Gala Fundraiser featuring international harp sensation Sasha Boldachev.  His return concert is extra special and for those of you who missed his performance in February 2018, you’ll want to make sure to hear this one! The date is Sunday, September 23, 2018 and there are still tickets left – get yours right away!

Additionally, we will be hosting the American Harp Society Concert Artist, Abigail Kent, and will be having more concerts that feature our student harpists.  If you have a concert you’re performing in, let us know and we’ll put it on the website!  We try to notify members of any updates to the site, but please check back regularly for more information in your harp community!

If you are not yet a member of the San Diego Harp Society, be sure to become one! Membership supports our Annual Chapter Recital, our Senior Scholarship Competition, our workshops & master classes, as well as the international guest artists on our concert season!  Members also receive the San Diego Harp Society e-Newsletter throughout the year, opportunities to perform in chapter recitals, discounts to chapter concerts and events, as well as updates by email about our upcoming activities.  To become a member, click here.

In the past we have had our annual Harp SocieTEA Fundraiser.  This year we have decided to try a new program of featuring a special guest artist.  Our Gala Fundraiser, featuring Sasha Boldachev, will be on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 3:00pm.  The performance, beginning at 4:30pm, will be preceded by wine, h’ordeuvres, a silent auction and performances by student members of the harp society.  This wonderful celebration of all things “harp”, is a great time to support our chapter and to help endow concerts and scholarships in the future!

We look forward to welcoming you to all of the San Diego Harp Society events this season!

Sincerely,
Julie Smith Phillips
